Not quite! I published the third of the Who Don'ts books, "The Ladies Who Do Dinner" about 12 months ago. What's been happening since then? First, I took a five week break, as I pondered marketing my newest book. Then I waited for inspiration and soon began writing. It's not another in the Ladies Who Don't Lunch series. It's something entirely new. In the interim, I traveled a fair bit - all in the name of research, of course - and continued the marketing of my first three books. The new one is coming along. Tidbits to follow...
Sometimes, things just don't go the way we plan. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered that Wix, the service that hosts my website and sends out my emails, had goofed in a very big way. It's taken almost two months to figure out why previous mail-outs were bounced by 100s of email addresses for no reason. And it's not over yet. Really not the way I had hoped to launch my third novel, "The Ladies Who Do Dinner," but there you have it. That should explain the reason for the lastest mail-out, with the theme of seeing double.
Thanks to everyone who submitted a suggested title for my third novel. They ranged from the suggestively plagiarized "Fifty Shades of Lunch" to the vaguely Shakespearean "Much Ado About Lunch" to the literal "The Ladies Who Finally Do Lunch." The winner is the truth-telling "The Ladies Who Do Dinner." My thanks, too, to the reader who sent along a quote from Stephen Sondheim, "I think 'lunch' is one of the funniest words in the world." Perhaps that's another reason the Who Don'ts did dinners instead of mid-day meals.
The Ladies Who Do Dinner is now going through rewrites and edits. Wish I could say that this is the fun part. My goal is to have it published before the end of the year. Watch for updates!
